Curt Bowen is the founder, owner, and publisher for Advanced Diver Magazine, the worlds largest and longest established advanced to technical explorer publication. Advanced Diver Magazine is distributed to over 45,000 readers and 52 countries. Curt is also the founder of the ADM Exploration Foundation, a 501c3 Not-for-Profit organization dedicated to exploration, science, and education of our sub aquatic realm. As a serious explorer and technical mixed gas rebreather diver, he has coordinated dozens of deep cave and shipwreck expeditions resulting in a multitude of amazing discoveries and once in a lifetime images. For over three decades, Curt Bowen has traveled around the globe capturing images and video of Mother Nature’s amazing beauty, colorful marine life, and local human customs. Over these years, Curt has worked close with a multitude of television network channels such as National Geographic, the Discovery Channel, Discovery Canada, Animal Planet, and Discovery China.

He Is A Cave Diver

Henry Castellanos is a highly experienced technical diver whose journey into the underwater world began in 2015 at the world’s largest aquarium located in Dubai U.A.E What started as curiosity quickly evolved into a deep passion for exploration, leading him across the globe to dive with sharks, whales, and through various historic ship wrecks. In 2022, Henry’s interest in advanced diving took a decisive turn during a dive on a WWII wreck in Honolulu, Hawaii. That experience launched his pursuit of technical diving, where he quickly rose through the ranks. Today, Henry is certified on five different rebreather systems and has conducted dives exceeding 400 feet in depth, uncovering some of the most remarkable underwater sites on Earth. Henry brings a unique level of discipline and precision to diving, drawn from his career as a full-time commercial pilot, instructor, and test pilot. With over two decades of teaching experience and ratings on 15 different aircraft, he currently serves as a B777 and B737 Captain flying worldwide. His background in high-stakes aviation directly informs his approach to dive planning, safety, and execution. Combining his love for exploration with technical mastery, Henry continues to push boundaries in both aviation and diving—committed to discovering, documenting, and preserving the world’s underwater heritage.

Woody Alpern is a highly experienced scuba diving instructor with nearly 50 years of diving and over 7,500 logged dives. As an SSI, RAID, and IANTD Instructor Trainer, he has received 12 PADI Awards of Excellence and specializes in technical and rebreather diving. He co-hosts the popular Dive Talk YouTube channel and podcast and co-owns Ocean Treasure Beachside Suites, a dive-focused resort in Florida. Woody also owns Big Blue Swim School, promoting water safety for kids. A dedicated family man, he lives in Florida with his wife, Amy, and their two daughters.

I started diving in 2015 and knew from my first breath this is what I wanted to do! If I have a day off work you will find me in the water! After getting certified I started immediately helping with pool classes focusing on becoming an instructor. Helping influence confident, competent and safe divers is why I love to teach! For myself I became a certified cave diver after diving cenotes in Mexico. I absolutely enjoy cave diving! The rigorous training and skills needed to be proficient and safe intrigued me. I was certified in CCR in 2023 and did my cross over course to Dive Talk Academy in 2024. I have been diving the Dive Talk GO as my primary dive gear ever since it became available! My goal is to introduce divers to the GO and share with them it's versatility in diving environments and teach Divers how to safely dive and enjoy the Dive Talk GO!
